I’m a mother to Angus and fiance to Aaron. Former hairdresser. Still trying to figure out what I wanna be when I grow up.
Recently uprooted from BC to Nova Scotia. I haven’t really formed an opinion of Nova Scotia yet. So far, I can tell you that the people talk funny but are really nice, they don’t use their indicators, they love their Tim Horton’s. Nova Scotia has hot sun and freezing wind, which makes trying to figure out what to wear very confusing.
I started a blog in July, ’09, two months after my son was born. I was shocked at how motherhood was NOTHING like I had thought it would be. I was expecting rainbows and the smell of baby powder, and sitting in a coffee shop reading a book while my sweet baby slept. Instead I got a baby who screamed 95% of the time (consequently I never left the house) and I was elbows deep in poop and dirty dishes, sleep-deprived, unwashed, twenty pounds heavier, and about 100 times more cynical than I used to be. I felt like I had to warn mothers-to-be.
Now I continue to blog for two reasons: one, to keep my family and friends who are far away, updated, and two, to prevent an expensive prescription to Zoloft.
Enjoy your stay! I hope you come back.

Hey girl, love the blog…..I get excited to read what you will be posting about next…..this blog is seriously a page out of my daily life
When I was pregnant with Elias all last summer, I discovered your blogs, and really got a feel for my impending motherhood thru the eyes of someone who has the same additude and humour as I do
Thank you Barclay for putting a little sunshine in my days, especially when all I see is frustration and cranky baby…you truly make me feel like I’m not alone (and, neither are you…)
Love, Sarah
